In 1958 a group of wine producers in the Verona area got together to form a co-operative association. Today this co-operative comprises two hundred and sixty wine growers with vineyards covering a total area of seven hundred hectares throughout the hilly area north of the city of Verona, this territory being authorised for denomination of origin. Since the nineteen nineties, constant dedication and care in the growing of grapes and in wine-making processes have led to an excellent standard of wine, appreciated by an ever increasing number of customers and mentioned in the specialist press. Awards won at top level international wine competitions are the well deserved reward for unstinting research aimed at improving quality.

Valpantena Amarone "Falasco"
An Amarone wine of great character, is a perfect
blend of strength and elegance. It is the result of
long, careful drying out of the grapes according
to the best Veronese traditions. The deep ruby red
color hints at its perfume, which is a sweet
concentration of truffles, licorice, coffee, earth and
traces of cocoa. A silver medal winner at the 34th
Vinitaly competition in 2000.

It is generously bodied and velvety, with a dry flavour and a good level of alcohol. It is matured in oak casks for at least two years. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to game, roasts and mature cheeses.

Valpantena Ripasso, "Falasco"
A second fermentation on the lees of an exceptional Amarone (at the 34th Vinitaly competition in 2000, winning the silver medal in the category for still red wine with less than five years ageing) imparts this wine with a tremendous depth of character. A rich nose coupled with currants and black cherry opening the way to truffles, espresso, leather and earthy mid-palate. The finish is very long, fading from raisins to hints of dark chocolate.
